Types of Rivet

Types of Rivet in the market.

1. SOLID (Round Head Rivet)

Solid rivets are among the simplest, most reliable, and oldest types of fasteners. Solid rivets consist simply of a shaft and head that are deformed with a hammer or rivet gun. Solid rivets are used in applications where reliability and safety count. A typical application for solid rivets can be found within the structural parts of aircraft. Hundreds of thousands of solid rivets are used to assemble the frame of a modern aircraft. Rivets are made of metal bar or metal bundle.
Solid Rivet can be of iron, stainless steel, braze.
Solid rivet head types: Round head, Flat head, Countersunkhead, Truss head, Pan head, Universal Head

2. SEMI-TUBULAR RIVET

There many variants in Semi-Tubular Rivet. Semi-tubular rivets (also known as Hollow rivets) are the same as solid rivets, but with a shallow hole opposite side of the head of rivet. This hole causes the tubular portion of the rivet (around the hole) to roll outward when force is applied. This reduces the amount of force needed for installation—tubular rivets require roughly ¼ the force of solid rivets.

3. BLIND RIVET

Blind rivet is also known as POP rivet.
There are several common types of blind rivets each with its own advantages. The most common are:
1.Standard 2.Sealed 3.Multi-grip.

How does blind rivet works?
Blind rivets are installed in a tight hole that passes through the materials being riveted. A riveter is used to pull the mandrel back while holding the rivet in place. As the mandrel is pulled back it deforms the rivet pushing the sides outward until the mandrel snaps. This expanded size forms the back side of the rivet holding the materials together.

Rivet Machine Information

There are many types of rivet machine available in the market let us know first what is rivet why it is used and what kinds of machine are used for production.

You might had heard many other rivet machine named as hollow rivet, tubular rivet machine, Semi  Tubuler Marchine, Header machine,  so on.

There are four types of rivet - Tubular, blind, split and solid rivet.

Let us know first what is rivet is used for. If you see around you inside or office, house you may see lots of things where rivet is used. If you are kitchen or bedroom rivets are used in utensils, lids, cupboards, etc. not only this you may find it in on daily used things such as bags, wallets, belts. Rivets has different shape and sizes.

What is Rivet?

Rivets are used as fastener in mechanical industries. It is less costly and effective way of joining a 2-3 structure or more. According to the requirement, rivets are available in many shapes and sizes and design.

Design Classification of rivet:

Solid Rivet, Round Head Rivet, Countersunk Head Rivet, Oval Countersunk Head Rivet, Blind Rivet. A metal pin for passing through holes in two or more plates or pieces to hold them together Rivet is used. a rivet consists of a smooth cylindrical shaft with a head on one end. The end opposite to the head is called the tail.

What is Rivet Machine ?

Hollow rivet machine is a heavy duty machine.
Below is a video of hollow rivet machine also called as tubular machine. You may get this kind of machines in many states such us Mumbai, Maharashtra, Punjab, Gujarat so on. Solid rivet. hollow rivet, pop rivet machines looks almost same there are few parts of machine which are designed separately as per the production and requirement. Every rivet machine has die as per the rivet size material.

Here is a link for rivet making machine video. For more details follow the youtube channel to get more detailed videos.

Rivet production is highly used product in market. One may can run a factory of rivet production with multiple types of rivet in different shapes and sizes. As you know rivets are used in multiple things around us. So rivet demands never end. If you talk about costing of machinery it may very upon quality of machine and size of rivet product also depend upon the seller as per the states.

There are lot more about it will discuss about it later as if now let us understand locomotive is a part of first part of running train which is known as engine or engine ka dabba. A powerful railway vehicle to pull the train.

The first locomotive in India :
The first locomotive train in India ran from Bombay now it is called Mumbai to Thane in the year 1853.

What is locomotive engine ?
A locomotive or engine is a rail transport vehicle that provides the power for a train.
Locomotives were classified by track gauge, motive power function and power in a four or five letter word.

Steam Locomotive engine:
Madras and Southern Maratta Railway (MSMR) 2-4-0 built by Sharp Stewart of Manchester in 1862.
The first steam locomotive in India was a construction engine, employed for bringing in the earthworks, during the construction of the Solani canal near Roorkee in December 1851.
Over the next few years, some more steam locomotives were built to toil all over the Indian sub-continent.

Here are few list of Indian locomotives of India.

It is said that Indian Locomotive Class Wag -12 is a new electric freight locomotive of Indian Railway with power output of 12,000 hp.

WAP7 is a three phase AC electric passenger locomotive developed by the Chittaranjan Locomotive works. Locomotive with a modified gear ratio to pull lighter loads at higher speeds.

Types of Trains in Indian Railways :
Indian Railways has some of the most spectacular and unforgettable rail journeys in the world wide.
Trams, Suburban, Metro, Mono, Luxury train, local, Express, Rajya rani, Super fast, Rajdhani, Garib rath, Satabdi, Duronto, Bullet Train. Every train has its unique power and services.

Tramps:
Horse-drawn trams were introduced in Kolkata in 1873; electric trams began in Chennai in 1895, and trams were also introduced in Mumbai, Baroda, Nashik, Kanpur, Kochi, Patna and Bhavnagar.
Nowadays you cant see tramps everywhere, most of the cities are closed. If you want to get experience of tramps just go to Kolkata, it is the only city which has tramps its cheaper than other transport.

Why Tramps are seen only in Kolkata?
They were discontinued in all Indian cities between 1930 and 1970, except for Kolkata. People in Calcutta find public transport more convenient and affordable . The routes of trams are in accordance with the traffic, However trains are little slow in speed.

What is Electric Motor

What is Electric Motor?

Electric motor, any of a class of devices that convert electrical energy to mechanical energy, usually by employing electromagnetic phenomena. Most electric motors develop their mechanical torque by the interaction of conductors carrying current in a direction at right angles to a magnetic field. The various types of electric motor differ in the ways in which the conductors and the field are arranged and also in the control that can be exercised over mechanical output torque, speed, and position.

Click a switch and get instant power. You can find this in everything from electric trains to remote-controlled cars, and you might be surprised how common they are. How many electric motors are there in the room with you right now? There are probably too many such as in your computer for starters, one spinning your hard drive around and another one powering the cooling fan. you'll find motors in electronic toys, hair dryers in the ceiling fans, and electric shavers. In the kitchen you may find in many electronic gadgets mixers etc.. every appliances mostly have motors, washing machines and dishwashers to coffee grinders, microwaves.

Electric motors have proved themselves to be among the greatest inventions of all time. Let's pull some apart and find out how they work. The basic idea of an electric motor is really simple: you put electricity into it at one end and an axle (metal rod) rotates at the other end giving you the power to drive a machine of some kind.

An electric motor consists of two essential elements. The first, a static component which consists of magnetic materials and electrical conductors to generate magnetic fields of a desired shape, is known as the stator. The second, which also is made from magnetic and electrical conductors to generate shaped magnetic fields which interact with the fields generated by the stator, is known as the rotor. The rotor comprises the moving component of the motor, having a rotating shaft to connect to the machine being driven and some means of maintaining an electrical contact between the rotor and the motor housing (typically, carbon brushes pushed against slip rings). In operation, the electrical current supplied to the motor is used to generate magnetic fields in both the rotor and the stator. These fields push against each other with the result that the rotor experiences a torque and consequently rotates.

AC Motor:

An AC motor is an electric motor driven by an alternating current. The AC motor commonly consists of two basic parts, an outside stator having coils supplied with alternating current to produce a rotating magnetic field, and an inside rotor attached to the output shaft producing a second rotating magnetic field.

Definition: The motor that converts the alternating current into mechanical power by using an electromagnetic induction phenomenon is called an AC motor. This motor is driven by an alternating current. The stator and the rotor are the two most important parts of the AC motors. The stator is the stationary part of the motor, and the rotor is the rotating part of the motor. The AC motor may be single phase or three phase.

The three phase AC motors are mostly applied in the industry for bulk power conversion from electrical to mechanical. For small power conversion, the single phase AC motors are mostly used. The single phase AC motor is nearly small in size, and it provides a variety of services in the home, office, business concerns, factories, etc. Almost all the domestic appliances such as refrigerators, fans, washing machine, hair dryers, mixers, etc., use single phase AC motor.

DC Motor:

A DC motor is any of a class of rotary electrical machines that converts direct current electrical energy into mechanical energy. The most common types rely on the forces produced by magnetic fields. Nearly all types of DC motors have some internal mechanism, either electro mechanical or electronic, to periodically change the direction of current flow in part of the motor.

DC motors were the first form of motor widely used, as they could be powered from existing direct-current lighting power distribution systems. A DC motor's speed can be controlled over a wide range, using either a variable supply voltage or by changing the strength of current in its field winding.

AC v/s DC motor :-

While both A.C. and D.C. motors serve the same function of converting electrical energy into mechanical energy, they are powered, constructed and controlled differently. 1 The most basic difference is the power source. A.C. motors are powered from alternating current (A.C.) while D.C. motors are powered from direct current (D.C.)
